Inauguration of New Office Building

The festive inauguration of the Community trade mark Office's new building in Alicante took place on June 10, 1999. Kador & Partner were invited and was represented by their Spanish colleague, Dolores Lopez Onrubia. Taking part in the ceremony in the bright sunshine overlooking the beautiful city of Alicante were also important figures from Spanish and European politics, such as the Spanish President, José Aznar, and the President of the European Commission, Jacques Santer.

It was unanimously acknowledged that with the opening of the new building another important step towards a unified Europe had been taken, and that the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market played a significant role in terms of European trade and commerce.

The celebrations finished with a cocktail for the guests who then had time to exchange their views about the development and the future role of the Office.
