Community Trade Mark Advisory Initiative

The CTM Advisory Initiative e.V. (CTM AI) is an initiative of Munich Attorneys for promoting the knowledge of the Community trade mark. The CTM Advisory Initiative consists of experienced Attorneys from Munich who have decided to promote and proliferate the knowledge of the Community trade mark based upon their practical experience gained since the CTM Office opened in 1996.

The CTM system has many similarities with the German Trademark system, so that German Attorneys have always been able to put their acquired expertise to good use.

Obtaining trademark protection within the European Union and its Member States is critical as to a successful brand strategy for a trademark law practice or for a corporate trademark management program for protecting brands in Europe. Since its launch in 1996 the European Community trade mark has become one of the most effective tools for protecting brands in the European single market, which brings together no less than 15 different countries with further states from central and eastern Europe to join in the near future. With the integration of Japan and the United States into the Madrid System it will become necessary more than ever to gain a profound insight in European trademark Matters.
