Dr. Utz Kador, born in 1940, is a German and European patent and trademark attorney, practicing since 1974. He is mainly engaged in patent matters before the European Patent Office and in trademark matters before the Community Trademark Office in Alicante. His working day focuses on opposition proceedings with all their practical and legal aspects. This also includes solving such conflicts by amicable settlements. He has been a member of the International Trademark Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA) for a great number of years. At present he is a member of the Community Trademark Committee of INTA.

He is also a member of the Patents Committee of the Union of European Patent Attorneys. For many years he was secretary and member of the board of the German Chapter of the Licensing Executive Society (LES) and an international delegate of LES. He has also been chairman of the Trademark Committee of LES International. He has held many lectures on both trademark and patent matters and published several articles.

Founded in 1974 as a firm of patent attorneys, Kador & Partner was reconstituted in 1983 as a firm incorporating patent attorneys and attorneys at law. In 1989 the firm's office in London was opened. It is located in the center of London and it enables us to conveniently hold meetings in London. In addition, it facilitates communication with the British Patent Office. Our office in London is managed by patent attorney John A. Cooper.

In the course of the unification of Germany our new office in Dresden was established in 1991. The office is favorably situated in the center of Dresden. It particularly facilitates directly serving our local clients. The office is run by patent attorney Dr. Sigfrid Kaufmann.

In order to give our clients best services also in Community Trademark matters we opened a branch office in Alicante in 1996. The office is located in the center of town and close to the Community Trademark Office (OHIM). It is managed by the Spanish lawyer Dolores López Onrubia.
